The Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire |
The Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire Charity Bowling Trophy Association staged, for the sixth time, its annual inter-lodge bowling tournament (Norman Reid Memorial Trophy) at Grangemouth Bowling Club on Sunday 2nd August 2009.
The host Lodge this year was Lodge Zetland No. 391 who nominated the Grangemouth Branch of the R.N.L.I. and the local Talbot House Day Centre for Senior Citizens to be equal recipients of the charitable donations received on the day and throughout the year. It is anticipated that each Charity will receive a sum in excess of £1000.00 this year.
Twenty four rinks from twenty of the twenty three Lodges in the province took part in the competition that was won by Lodge Craiginnan No. 850 who narrowly defeated Lodge Stirling Royal Arch No. 76 in the final. Brother Andrew McKinnon, Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Depute, made the presentation of prizes.
Provost Pat Reid very kindly joined the bowlers for lunch and stayed for some time to support the Camelon team as he was born there.
