A cheque for £2,200.00 was presented to Ochil Leisure Enterprises in the premises of Lodge St Servanus No 771 on Tuesday evening 5th November 2013. The fine sum was raised by the Bowling Brethren of the Province during their Annual Charity Bowling Competition held at Menstrie Bowling Club on Sunday 11th August 2013.
Lodge St. Servanus No 771 was the host Lodge this year and did a fine job. It also nominated the recipient Charity.
Ochil Leisure Enterprises is a non-profit making Company that was set up to operate the closed Ochil Leisure Centre, a former school facility, in Alva. It was re-opened six months ago and provides a deep swimming pool and games hall and many peripheral facilities to the local community and further afield. The money donated is to be used to buy hairdryers for the pool changing facilities as there are none at present which discourages patrons to use the premises.
The picture below shows Mr John Biggam, Company Treasurer, receiving the cheque from RWPGM Bro Andrew A McKinnon. The others in the picture are members of the Company, members of Lodge St. Servanus No 771 and members of Provincial Grand Lodge.
