2012 Charity Fishing Competition

The Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire Charity Fishing Competition 2012 was held at Buckieburn Reservoir Denny on Saturday 2nd June 2012.

Some 32 fishermen took part on a day when a cold east wind blew and the fish went into hiding. The result was that only ten fish were landed and much frustration was experienced by those who failed to catch one.

The winning team of two came from Lodge Callendar No 588 who were Bro Colin Mason and Bro. John Shand PM with a catch of 2lb 14oz.

The prize for the heaviest individual fish went to Bro Mark Thomson of Lodge Dolphin No 911 at 1lb 10oz.

Bro Gordon Sewell, Substitute Provincial Grand Master, made the presentation of the prizes while Bro Alex. Crocket, Past Substitute Provincial Grand Master caught one of the early fish, as well as his ankle, and ran the on-site raffle.

All proceeds from the Competition will be donated to Riding for the Disabled, Bannockburn later this year once a final figure is collated.
