The Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire |
Fifteen members of Lodge St. Andrew (Denny & Loanhead) travelled to
Croydon for the bi-annual visit to their EC twin, The Coulsdon Lodge No.
4547.
After the Coulsdon meeting was ‘called off’ RWM Archie Mackay and his
team of Office Bearers gave a demonstration of a Scottish third degree
ceremony with two volunteers acting as candidates.
The ceremony was very well received by the 190 Brethren who attended
and 186 dined afterwards. Coulsdon Lodge promote their ‘Scottish’
night as a fundraiser and the menu included haggis which was piped
in and addressed by PM Kevin McLean.
The event raised over £2,000 for Coulsdon charities.
The formal twinning between the two lodges came after 25 years of
visiting. Coulsdon Lodge make an annual pilgrimage north for the
installation and in recent
years 176 has had an Emergency Meeting the night before so their special
guests can witness two ceremonies.
