Provincial Season Starts with a Bang at Lodge Callendar

Brethren, last week saw the start of a new season and during the next few weeks most Lodges within the Province will be having their first meeting.

On behalf of Provincial Grand Lodge I would take this opportunity to wish all lodges a successful and fruitful season.

The first meetings of the new season were held at Lodge St Servanus No 771 and Lodge Callendar No 588 on Monday evening 2nd September 2013.

Provincial Grand Lodge's first Annual Visitation also took place on that evening at Lodge Callendar and that turned out to be a very entertaining and eventful evening.

The meeting was a First or EA Degree and, as far as I am aware, is the first time that the Candidates for the evening were the father and grandfather of a serving Office Bearer of the Lodge. Bro Calum McArdle, Junior Steward of the Lodge saw his father, Gordon McArdle, and grandfather, Alexander McArdle, initiated into Freemasonry in a ceremony conducted by the Lodge Office Bearers ably assisted by Bro Thomas Meikle, JW of Lodge Carron No 139, who is the son in-law of Alexander. Quite a family affair. At the conclusion of the meeting the Brother McArdle's were warmly congratulated and welcomed by the RWM Bro Stuart Hunter and RWPGM Bro Andrew McKinnon.

On the same evening the RWPGM presented Bro Joseph Sharp PM Lodge Callendar No. 588 with the Honorary Provincial Grand Rank of Architect in recognition of his services to the Craft and to his Mother Lodge over many years.

It didn't finish there.

RWPGM Bro Andrew A. McKinnon PM Lodge Callendar No 588 also received his 50 Years Jubilee Certificate from RWM Bro Stuart Hunter. Bro Hunter gave a brief resume of Bro McKinnon's Masonic career and the Brethren warmly congratulated Bro McKinnon on his achievements. Andrew suitably replied.

Congratulations to all mentioned above and well deserved Andy.

Below are snaps from the evening kindly provided by Bro Stewart Cruickshank from Province of Ayrshire.
