As the sun sets over Gartocharn and Loch Lomond, so it sets on another part of the History of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire. Brother John McKenzie, Past Master of Lodge Loch Lomond No 1483 has come to the end of his Commission as Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master of Stirlingshire.

Johns Commission started in June 2005 when he was installed in the Millennium Hall in Gartocharn,. It was right therefore that his retirement function was also held there on the 23rd May 2010.

Friends, family, Brethren throughout the Province and their partners attended the function which saw John and his Dorcus being presented with gifts from the Lodges within the Province to mark his retirement. 

The gifts and cheque were presented by Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Elect Brother Andrew A McKinnon and Brother Alistair Marshal, Substitute Provincial Grand Master. Andrew commented on the sterling work which John had done in the name of the Province, thanked him for all his endeavours over the past 5 years and wished him the best of  health to enjoy his retirement. Alistair presented Dorcus with a necklace and a bouquet of flowers as a thank you to her for assisting John.

In reply John thanked all who assisted him during his 5 years in office without whose assistance the position of Provincial Grand Master would have been more difficult. He also congratulated Andrew on his election to Provincial Grand Master and wished him, Provincial Grand Lodge and all the Lodges within the Province all best wishes for the next five years.
