2016 Reigning Masters Degree Presentation.

The RWPGM, Brother Alistair T Marshall, presenting a cheque for £ 1,000.00 along with Members of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire and some of the Reigning Masters in the Province to Michelle Campbell and Liz Macmillan of Maggies Centre, which will open in the Summer at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert. The money was raised at the Reigning Master's Degree held in Lodge Zetland 391 on Friday 22nd May.

 Maggie’s, is the charity which provides free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their family and friends, are opening a new Centre within the grounds of Forth Valley Royal Hospital in the summer of 2016.

 This is a fantastic support towards our year target of £590,000 on average to run a Maggie’s Centre said Michelle Campbell, Centre Fundraiser for Maggie’s Forth Valley.

 The Forth Valley centre will also be Maggie’s 20th Centre, opening in Maggie’s 20th anniversary year.

 Maggie’s relies on voluntary donations to support and grow its network of Centres and to develop its unique, high quality programme of support. The charity’s aim is to make the biggest difference possible to people living with cancer and their family and friends.

Built in the grounds of specialist NHS cancer hospitals, our Centres are warm and welcoming places, with qualified professionals on hand to offer a programme of support that has been shown to improve physical and emotional wellbeing.

Great architecture is vital to the care Maggie’s offers; and to achieve that, we work with great architects, whose expertise and experience is fundamental to the success of our Centres. 

The first Maggie’s Centre opened in Edinburgh in 1996. There are now 18 Centres across the UK, online and abroad, with more planned for the future.
